Amanda Hightower is the Co-Founder & Executive Director of REST (Real Escape from the Sex Trade) in Seattle, Washington. Amanda began working with street-involved and sexually exploited individuals in the Seattle region in 2007, and co-founded REST in 2009. Founded as a volunteer-run, grass-roots effort, REST now serves over 500 victims and survivors of sexual exploitation a year, including hotline support, innovative text outreach, emergency shelter, personal advocacy, case management, health services, and long-term housing. Amanda champions a person-centered, strengths-based, and self-determination approach to care, believing that providing opportunities for survivors to increase a sense of agency and self-efficacy are critical to healing and recovery after exploitation. Amanda has her BA in Psychology from Northwest University, her MSW from the University of Washington, and is a Certified National Wraparound Coach.
