The underage African American female victim of human trafficking is often misunderstood. The suffering of complex trauma extends through adolescents into adulthood. An African American girl trying to navigate her victimization is met with a triad of a dysfunctional education system, institutionalized racism and adultification. The role of the educational system can aide in her resilience and empowerment. The purpose of this workshop is to help educators create a paradigm shift in school culture, through the creation of a safe environment.
