About this talk

From the context of Latin America, Andrea will share about the realities of prostitution and trafficking in Bolivia, and share programming strengths based on the whole person and their context from decades of grassroots outreach. Word Made Flesh Bolivia programming includes weekly street outreach, crisis support, trauma-focused therapy, discipleship, life-skills training, professional skills training and employment through an international social enterprise, SutiSana.

Prevention efforts include an after-school program with education support and leadership development for children directly affected by sexual exploitation, and advocacy through church partnerships and public education. Andrea will share about effective strategies in working directly with victims and their families for long-term sustainability and growth.

Takeaway Ideas:

Learn about the context of prostitution and trafficking around South America and specifically in Bolivia.

Learn from WMFB program strengths: street outreach that honors, holistic, inter-generational programming, and member care for long-term sustainability and impact
